Wood golems were a type of golem, unique to the realm of Ravenloft, constructed out of wood.[1]
Description[]
Wood golems were typically shorter than the average golem.[1]
Abilities[]
Like many golems, wood golems possessed a general immunity to most magic and could only be hurt with weapons of enchantment +2 or higher. If the golem was constructed of petrified wood, then only weapons of enchantment +3 or higher could harm them. However, being constructed out of wood they were vulnerable to magically induced fire or summoned insects.[1]
Unlike doll golems, wood golems could not be slowed by use of the spell warp wood and they were capable of casting it themselves three times per day.[1]
Combat[]
Wood golems often smashed their limbs against objects, causing splinters to fly out and pierce their opponents. Supposedly, these wicked shards would burrow their way towards their victim's heart.[1]
Ecology[]
Wood golems were often known to be carved in Darkon, as woodcarving was a time-honored skill in that domain.[1]
