Web golems were a type of golem constructed out of thick layers of webbing from monstrous spiders.[1]

Description[]

Web golems had a vaguely humanoid form. The two features that stood out among the webbing material they were primarily composed of were eight spider-like eyes and a pair of sharp mandibles.[1]

Abilities[]

Like all golems, they possessed some degree of magic immunity. The spell web notably had no affect on them and they were capable of casting it themselves.[1]

Because of the material they were composed of, web golems possessed a remarkable adhesive quality that could easily entrap an opponent's weapons. Their webbing bodies also allowed them to move across ceilings and vertical surfaces, much like a spider, and to blend in among the webbing of giant spiders.[1]

Combat[]

Web golems typically preferred to hide from their prey on high ceilings. When the right moment presented itself, the web golem would ambush their prey with the web spell and pounce down. Once in close-quarters, web golems would either slam opponents with their fists or bite them with their poisonous mandibles.[1]

History[]

Web golems were known to live in the guard quarters of Castle Ravenloft alongside monstrous spiders and ettercaps.[2]

Ecology[]

Creating a web golem was a complex task that required some experience in either weaving or silk-making. The material needed to construct their bodies cost around 1,000 gp.[1]
