Jack Karn was a jackalwere and the darklord of Farelle in the Islands of Terror. None of the people of his domain suspected his bestial nature, knowing him only as an ordinary itinerant tinker.[1]
Having no unnatural power to seal his domain, Karn instead commanded his dogs and jackals to patrol the borders and block escape. They came in great numbers and their senses were powerful, making it nigh-impossible to get past them unless their master willed it.[1]
