Ez d'Avenir, born Ezmerelda Radanavich, was a vampire hunter and student of Doctor Rudolph van Richten.[1]

History[]

Ez was born the daughter of Irena Radanavich and an unnamed father.[1]

When she was young, her family posed as Vistani in order to prey on unsuspecting travelers, eventually kidnapping Erasmus van Richten, whom they sold to the vampire Baron Metus. Her family was later tracked down by Erasmus's father, Dr. Rudolph van Richten, who delivered Ez's mother to justice for what happened to his son.[1][2]

In the years after the arrest of her mother, she joined a traveling Vistani band and adopted the name Ez d'Avenir. Eventually, she sought out Rudolph van Richten. After two years of searching, Ez located van Richten, who initially mistook her for a Vistani assassin. Ez was able to convince him that she sought him out to help find his missing son, when she was informed of Erasmus's fate after being transformed into a vampire spawn.[1] She was surprised to reconnect with Erasmus, who now existed in a ghostly form.[3]

Ez trained and worked with van Richten for two years, helping him slay creatures of the night. However, because of his distrust of her Vistani origin, as well as increasing arguments, Ez decided to part ways with van Richten to preserve their relationship.[1]

After leaving van Richten in Mordentshire, Ez replaced her leg with a prosthetic after being attacked by werewolves.[1]
